Dynaudio's 30th anniversary was highlighted by the noteworthy introduction of our latest anniversary model, the Sapphire: Thousands of audiophiles visited the Dynaudio international website for the official unveiling of the Sapphire on-line in August, and about one-third of the 1,000 numbered pairs of this special limited edition loudspeaker have already been sold before the model was ever available at a dealer. Due to the extremely elaborate enclosure assembly and the refinement of the lacquered finish, the manufacture of the Sapphire is even more complex than Dynaudio's other loudspeaker models, which themselves are renowned for their superb cabinets. Our master craftsmen skillfully craft each Sapphire in the proud Danish tradition of excellence using hand-selected woods, which are exquisitely constructed in an elaborate process. Afterwards, the veneer surface gets finished with multiple layers of piano lacquer and further refined with a special polish. Due to the extensive process, the capacity of manufacturing this "gem" is understandably limited, and the complete production of the 1,000 pairs of the stunning Sapphire is expected to take approximately one year.
